Blumhouse is known for producing cult horror films, such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge, Get Out, Halloween and The Invisible Man.They have recently signed up the British team behind viral hit ‘Host’ in a deal to create film for them. The Lie is written and directed by Veena Sud, and stars Mireille Enos (The Killing), Peter Sarsgaard (An Education) and Joey King (The Kissing Booth 2, The Act). When their teenaged daughter confesses to impulsively killing her best friend, two desperate parents attempt to cover up the horrific crime, leading them into a complicated web of lies and deception. Nocturne is written and directed by Zu Quirke in her breakout feature debut. This series couldn’t have come at a better time, it would be interesting to know if this was always the plan or were they hoping on cinema releases before Covid hit?
Whatever the reason we think it’s great viewing especially during the month of Halloween, with news that the new Candyman has been put back and ‘Quiet Place’ II yet to hit our big screens gives us something to look forward to.
