AN INCREDIBLE ENERGY PACKED PERFORMANCE BY THE WEEKND!
The Weeknd quite literally brought the party to millions all over the world at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show. His performance packed with energy, joy and so much gravitas- strings, guitars and those distinctive soulful vocals he is loved for. The finale song ‘Blinding Lights’ felt like a moment for everyone to go nuts and let loose, with an organised mess on stage that was choreographed so perfectly. Congrats to Abel for yet again reminding us why he is one of the biggest musicians in the game!

He spent £5 million of his own money to create an unforgettable show, while unlike previous years due to the pandemic his show was watched by thousands of cardboard cut-outs, who filled out the socially-distanced Florida’s Raymond James Stadium which held 25,000 fans, approximately 7,500 were vaccinated healthcare workers. The fact that didn’t put him off, instead he made the stadium rock (normally capacity 65,890) is a testament to his talent as a live musician- also millions watched at home!
Twitter was trending all night about his performance and the memes were super entertaining. We did notice ‘The Grammys’ official Twitter decided to join in with the celebrations, even after the recent snubbing and Abel publicly sharing his disgust for being completely ignored in the 2020 nominations list. Poor taste or are they up to something??
Other acts on the bill included Miley Cyrus, who was joined by 80s rockers Joan Jett and Billy Idol, H.E.R, Jasmine Sullivan and Amanda Gorman who recently wowed us all at the Inauguration.
Superbowl is also loved for it’s special over the top adverts, this year was no different! Actor Timothee Chalamet as Edward Scissorhands to promote a car and Drake with Paul Rudd doing this!
