He has once again teamed up with friend and longtime collaborator Willem Dafoe for this dark portrayal of a man in despair, deep in his subconscious, lost in his thoughts and confusing reality with fantasy. Abel takes the viewer in so many uncomfortable places and you literally will have no idea what might happen next. Dafoe once again shines and carries the film with incredible cinematography and striking husky dogs who seem to share every frame with him. Be warned this film will shock and for some be too much, while others may appreciate the fearless approach to creating film with no rules with Abel at the helm.
