Belfast is one of the best movies this year. an intimate tale about one family torn between staying together and safe. Branagh documents how his own family suffered during the conflict in Belfast during the late 60’s which continued to tear the country apart for decades after. This story manages to use love, humour and music in such a hopeful way that you feel so much joy even though war is looming.Beautiful simple cinematography and an incredible cast including 11-year rising star Jude Hill who plays Buddy the young Branagh so perfectly.
