VALENTINES DATE NIGHT OR MATE NIGHT???

Valentines Day is literally around the corner. Why does it always feel like such a big deal?? I have always felt pressure from when I was around 15 whether I was in a relationship or not. Will I get any cards? Should I send one??? What should I wear? Where should we go? I’m soooooo old fashioned too I have NEVER sent a card to someone I fancied only a boy I was atcually dating at the time. Does that make me a weirdo or a little insecure???
I have been spoilt and had some amazing V Day dates. My favs have included being surprised and spoilt with all the usual perfume/dinner/flowers and lots of kisses and spooning.
I have also done the whole sexy lingerie, massage and night in, which in my experience has always been the most well recieved lol!!
Guys are so different to us they just want you all to themselves to get their wicked way with….. The way to a man’s heart, affection, massage and good food! If all that fails give him a controller with PS or XBOX and he is good for the night! HA!
But my ultimate fav Valentines Day was getting the biggest Forever Friends teddy almost as big as me and a Harry Potter marathon with the boyfriend at the time. I’m very romantic and quite cringy and love sweet gestures too.
It really isn’t essential to spend loads of cash and book an extravagant restaurant or an expensive weekend away to Paris or NY. I think it’s more about time and intimacy, remind that person they rock and how special they are to you. Nothing wrong with going fancy though if you feel like treating your honey, here are some cool places.

If you are someone who likes to try different things and have fun this could be perfect for you. A restaurant http://www.archipelago-restaurant.co.uk set in a beautiful almost ‘tropical type of vibe serving dishes like crocodile, wildebeest and kangaroo. Don’t worry standard classics like chicken and fish and an mixture of vegetarian options are also on the menu.
The Shard Restaurant is located on level 31 of The Shard, http://www.the-shard.com/shard/the-vision/. It’s as much about the beautiful views as the food. There is also a very cool three-storey high atrium bar.
Kensington Palance ‘The Orangery’ http://www.orangerykensingtonpalace.co.uk for high tea or lunch maybe. Feel like a Princess for a day this would be perfect as a ‘Mate Date’ with your bestie I think. Surrounded by beautiful gardens in the grounds of Kensington Palace such a treat.
It’s not all spending loads and going out! You could cook your babes fav meal, take them to see that movie they have been going on about or just snuggle on the sofa with a yummy takeaway!
Try not to compare you night with what others are showing on social media. We are all different and romance is expressed in your own personal way.
Single pringles yes I know it can be depressing when you see couples everywhere all doe eyed and holding hands but let go of that green eyed monster and do your own thing. You can have a ‘Mate Date’ just as much fun without the pressure of an expensive gift and a night of wild passion ( not that it’s a bad thing) I say call your bestie and go out for dinner or movies and have fun!!
I would love to have my cousin over who lives sadly in Brum and get a pizza, pamper each other and then rock our pj’s and watch chick flicks!!
There are a lot of single people that are loving life and take care of ther own needs and desires. I don’t think it’s anything to be embarrassed about or hide away from. Ladies over 18 have for years now been taking care of their own needs and we all know guys have been doing it for as long as we can remember LOL!
Being a female means that having a man or partner by your side is a bonus but not a crutch or a necessity. It’s funny I was out with a mate this week and we were discussing how movies like ‘Sex In The City’ and women like Madonna and Rihanna totally embrace their sexuality and needs. It’s sometimes a taboo subject but we all have that friend in our circle who is more Samantha then Charlotte that has total control over pleasing herself without feeling guilty or ashamed. For those that want to explore be playful while being your own boss I think this may be just what you need to add some fun to your night ‘Smile Makers’!
For all your V Day first timers going out with your crush finallyyyyyyy…. I say be brave and book your ticket early for the latest 50 Shades Darker movie. This will either make the 2 of you uncomfortable or make you laugh…. LOL!
