NEW MOVIE ALERT ‘LOVING’ MY REVIEW!

This week has been a week of reviewing new movies, which is perfect for me as I’m a total geek! Today I’m watching ‘Jackie’ starring’ Natalie Portman, full review will be on my blog tomorrow. Last night was all about the film ‘Loving’ Directed by Jeff Nichols. You may have seen the hype around it at the Golden Globes last week.
I tried not to read too much about the movie as I knew it was based on a true story about Richard and Mildred Loving. When a movie is made around civil rights or slavery I always have a pre conceived idea of the ending. It normally ends sad and me feeling disappointed in human nature. Loving however was not like that, without spoiling it for you, it was a story about an interracial couple wanting to be able to be accepted and allowed to live in the state they were born as husband and wife.
It starts quite slow with not as much dialogue as I have got used to, but I think that’s deliberate almost setting the scene for the second half of the movie where you start to feel attached to the characters especially Meredith played by Ruth Negga.
If you fancy a movie that leaves you thinking and also leaves you feeling a little optimistic after I recommend ‘Loving’.
