Are Little Mix to sexy??? That’s the discussion that started this weekend after they performed their new single on X Factor. The girls were wearing revealing outfits with thigh high boots. It’s very important to remember time and place! They are not rocking to the cinema or going shopping like this!
I have had a chance to get to know these girls over the last few years and have interviewed them a dozen times. In my opinion they are young women growing up in front of the limelight, naturally evolving and maturing in front of us. All 4 girls love clothes, hair and make up, they have fun and love dressing up.
Stop for a minute and think about yourself…. Did you have the same sense of style from 18? 21, 23, 25 ??? No exactly, the only difference is they are in the public eye and also have access to the best stylist and teams to help them grow into confident young women and take more risks. I’m sure there are times when they are not quite sure if the look is right but want to try and see.
Over the time I have got to know them I have always chatted to them about style and how they are all becoming their own women! It’s been fun seeing them grow up and be more daring with that they wear! I always jokingly call Leigh-Anne baby RiRi as she totally loves Rihanna ( almost as much as me) and looks for inspiration from her. Jesy is that sexy tomboy, she does oversized with great boots to sass up her look. Perrie is the pretty girl next door who has gone through heartbreak and such a huge transition in her life and now is getting comfortable in her own skin, which is so liberating and good to see. Then you have my adorable little cheeky sis Jade ( Egyptian roots makes me love her more) she is super stunning and mixes preppy with edgy and sexy so well.
Many times the girls wear jeans and oversized hoodies teamed up with trainers, other times they are in gowns and heels. As women we have so many rules thrown on us and being judged by what we look like rather than what we do has got to stop!! I have days I want to be comfy in oversized and other days I want to feel beautiful and wear something that makes me feel hot!
Little Mix have created music over 5 years that has influenced pop culture and entertained a whole load of teenagers and some of us over 20’s too!!
Give them a break and let them discover the women they want to become as they get older. Beyonce, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Selena Gomez have all gone through similar transitions so let’s not overthink it or make these babes paranoid please.
I’m not a huge fan of Little Mix BUT everyone grows up. Everyone has the right to look sexy. Girls are becoming woman at some point and there’s nothing bad in showing some skin. I hate the fact that people slutshame woman just because they dress more different when they get older. It’s one thing to be naked all the time, but these girls are doin it right. I fully support this and as a women we all should support each other 🙂
