KISS ME QUICK……
11th October 2016
Lip colours can be so much fun and lift your mood! They can make you feel pretty, sexy and cool! I discovered I’m a creature of habit or slightly boring as I can happily live between 2 shades with lip balm days in between! Nars Rosebud lip pencil and Bahama are my every day essentials I loveeeeee them!!
I have 5 go to shades in my make-up bag but only really use the 2 above most days. I do have 3 other shades all by Mac that I occasionly wear, mostly the Lady Danger in red. I’m defo more about a great lip liner pencil for day wear and lipsticks in the evening if I’m going out. I think having a key fresh look for every day is key for looking and feeling good. I wish I could walk out the house with no make-up on… but sadly my skin isn’t flawless and I don’t have that confidence yet. Having said that I do have a few days where I wear no make up and let my skin breath, tend to be work at home days.. LOL!
I think it’s about looking like you are wearing less even if you have a load on to achieve that look you want. Everywhere you look on Youtube, Instagram and Pininterest you can get inspiration. I’m such a screegrab girl and create mood boards on my iPhone…. If you ever saw my phone you would think I was a editor of a fashion magazine with the amount of images I have around style sprinkled between motivational beautiful quotes.
I find Nars and Mac great for lip colours and Dior also have amazing shades.
Kylie Jenner just unleashed 4 new shades and they are super cool. There is only one shade I wouldn’t wear the dark green, it’s more Halloween I think! I also love that she has really thought about different skin colours and what works for brown and black skin too!
Charlotte Tilbury has some great colours too, she has been raved about by so many celebs and then Ellie G said to me to try her stuff and how she has the best foundations ever. Yet to try them, but have grabbed a couple of lip colours from her new range which I have fallen in love with.
Make up is something very personal to you and when you find products that work for your skin it’s amazing. I stick to brands I love and that suit me like Nars, Mac and Bobbi Brown. However my Nars lip pencil recently was blunt and I couldn’t find a sharpner so ran into Boots on the way to a filmed interview. In my panic I grabbed the nearest shade I could find that would work for that day and applied it. It was by by L’oreal and cost half the price of my usual one and looked amazing. Lesson I learnt don’t ignore the brands that you find in your local drug stores places like Boots and Superdrug! They stock a good range of products and sometimes they are a lot cheaper then the big make-up counters.
Also learn to have have fun with makeup especially doing seasonal changes. Autumn/Winter try adding a couple of new darker shades, plums and even browns in your make up bag! If you are not sure they suit you, go into Mac or I personally love the Libertys counter in London where they help you pick and show you how to apply. Just don’t get sucked into buying a load of extra stuff that you really don’t need or wnat!
I think this season I really want to invest in a new blush, shadow and lippy. I love the whole flesh toned eye shadow shades and great peach for my cheeks! Huda beauty has the look nailed.
