THE BAFTA’S 2021 WINNERS!
11th April 2021
The stars were out this weekend to celebrate the BAFTAs at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. This was the first time in a very long time the likes of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Renee Zellweger, Phoebe Dyvenor and Richard E Grant attended live in both London and L.A. The awards had to adapt to the current pandemic but were determined to have as many of the presenters and nominees present as possible.
This year the nominations were the most diverse reflecting stories from incredible new talent from all over the world especially from us Brits.
Winners included ‘Promising Young Woman’, ‘The Father’ ”Rocks’ and Pixar’s ‘Soul’ movie which won ‘Best Animation’ and Soundtrack alongside actors Daniel Kaluuya, Yuh-Jung Youn (Minari) and Frances McDormand. The biggest win was for the incredible ‘Nomadland’ it grabbed four prizes including best film, best actress and best director. Chloe Zhao is the second woman to win best director in 53 years of Bafta history, sounds insane to think it’s taken this long for another woman to win!
Performances came from Liam Payne, Celeste, while Leslie Odom Jr and Corinne Bailey Rae teamed up to duet. Noel Clarke received the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award at the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2021.
