Is the world ready for this Michael Bay Sci-Fi thriller about the pandemic we have all been trying to deal with?
This terrifying film is set 4 years into quarantine and COVID virus has mutated and the world is in an insane terrible place. Infected Americans are ripped from their homes and forced into quarantine camps known as Q-Zones, from which there is no escape, as a few brave souls fight back against the forces of oppression.
Amid this dystopian landscape, a fearless courier, Nico (KJ Apa), who’s immune to the deadly pathogen, finds hope and love with Sara (Sofia Carson), though her lockdown prohibits them from physical contact. When Sara is believed to have become infected, Nico races desperately across the heavily policed streets of Los Angeles in search of the only thing that can save her from imprisonment.
The internet was divided with a lot of upset people who want it banned, deeming it both ‘insensitive and ‘dangerous’. Making a film about one of the worst times the world has ever had to endure whilst being in the middle of it with no idea what the outcome will be, naturally was going to cause people. We wonder if the team behind it hoped the outrage and attention would guarantee them a great platform to stream it on or even for cinemas to show it. Potential partners like a Netflix or Amazon Prime would have had some reservations with such a delicate subject matter.
SONGBIRD also stars Bradley Whitford, Demi Moore, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Walter Hauser, Craig Robinson and Peter Stormare.
