LABEL + TAGS + HEADLINES=?

Guys I love Youtube and have discovered so many wonderful people, music and inspiration from the hours I have spent watching. I love sharing my vids which include interviews and Vlogs with people I rate or am friends with. BUT and this is a big but I was suggested to watch a video about confronting being insecure about the way you look by a regular blog visitor the lovely Mikayla. I had to stop watching after 5 min … Why? Well when you are watching a vid on the right side of your channel you see tons of similar vids suggested and this made me feel uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong we should talk about the things that affect us and not just show how to contour or get great beach waves on your hair but there has to be a better way to sign post it?
Most of the titles are more like headlines and felt really uncomfortable for me. I’m a presenter and I have worked around people who come up with the most sensationalised titles so people will click on the story or video for the most traffic possible with the message getting lost.
Although I think its cool to come up with a creative thought provoking title I don’t anymore like headlines just for a reaction. Especially when the topic is so personal and about insecurities.
I’m a thinker, sensitive and a girl working through her own insecurities and life plans but I would never put up a headline on a Youtube video like ‘I’m fat and unhappy,’ Why because I’m labelling and hurting myself just like the bullies that had me feeling that way in the first place.
I’m not judging I’m caring that’s why I’m sharing my thoughts. Let’s not make everything about hits and sympathy what about change and supporting. Our stories told in the right way can inspire a ton of people and hopefully stop them from making the same mistakes or get comfort out of our words. I’m not bashing anyone and I know sometimes it’s a cry for help but please treat yourself the way you wany others do. If your vid has 100 views but people that genuinely feel something from your story have watched, that is more powerful then 100,000 looking for drama and entertainment on Youtube. Compare the vids above with the ones below. The titles make such a difference be kinder to yourself when talking about our insecurities. Let me know what you think below….
