After the Wedding is one of the big movies at this years Sundance London. Director Bart Freundlich tells this story about strong women, motherhood, and loss.
The awesome Michelle Williams plays Isabel, she has dedicated her entire life to working with children in a Calcutta orphanage. Mysteriously a generous donation is made to help the struggling orphanage This leads Isabel to NYC where she meets the generous Theresa played by Julianne Moore.
Therasa is a super successful woman who runs her own media company with the perfect hubby and two twin boys. Both women are amazing in this and have real chemistry on screen together.
After being invited to Therasa’s daughters wedding Isabel discovers a shocking connection from her past. This is when everything changes.
This movie is beautiful, will have you in tears and leave you feeling all sorts of emotions. I loved it and have to say Michelle, Julianne and Billy Crudup were all so brillant in it.
I chatted with Bart at Sundance about why he wanted to make this movie and what it was like to put Julianna ( his wife) and Michelle together on the big screen. Plus having his daughter on set as a P.A is quite the family affair!
