BAFTA RISING STAR NOMINATIONS 2025!

The nominees for this year’s EE Rising Star Award at the BAFTA Film Awards have just been announced, and names like David Jonsson and Marisa Abela are on the list of rising talent getting well-deserved recognition.

Celebrating its 20th year, the announcement took place at The Savoy Hotel in London ahead of the main event—the EE BAFTA Film Awards—happening on Sunday, 16th February 2025, at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Joining Jonsson and Abela on the nominee list are Mikey Madison, Jharrel Jerome, and Nabhaan Rizwan. These stars have blown audiences away in their recent films: Anora, Unstoppable, and In Camera, respectively.

The Rising Star Award is special because it’s the only BAFTA category where the winner is chosen by the public. Voting is already live on the BAFTA website, so fans can have their say.

Over the years, this award has gone to some big names, including James McAvoy, Eva Green, Juno Temple, Tom Hardy, Kristen Stewart, Letitia Wright, Micheal Ward, and most recently, Emma Mackey.

The Rising Star nominees are among the first announcements for this year’s awards. the BAFTA Film Awards will air on Sunday, 16th February 2025. Don’t miss it!
