zayn the lil hero…
21st February 2019
Lebanese director Nadine Labaki has made a film that will leave you feeling touched and also with a deeper understanding of what is going on in places like Beirut to young street kids suffering from poverty, abuse and neglect.
She tells the heartfelt story of 12- year old Zain who is abused mentally and physically…
This brave incredible boy somehow has taken up the role of his parents working and trying to look out for his siblings, especially his 11 year old sister.
You see the story unfold and tragedy happen over and over again. He makes a decision to sue his parents and takes them to court for negligence and to stop them from having more kids. There are so many powerful emotional scenes that will leave you wanting to do something to help. We think films like this are so very important for social change, especially when they are told in such a raw honest way… it’s that much more powerful.
Sidenote the musical score is beautiful.
Capernaum is out this weeeknd!
