MET GALA BABES 2017!!
2nd May 2017
The Met Gala is one of the most beautiful exciting events in the Fashion world. I’m like a little kid in a sweet shop, so fascinated and drooling over the outfits, make up and hair! The designers and stylists create some truly breath taking looks for some of the most popular and edgy ladies in entertainment. I think what’s important to remember is each year there is a specific theme and the idea is to create a costume around it. This year’s honoured designer is the amazing 74- year old Japanese avant-gardist Rei Kawakubo. She started her beautiful label, Comme des Garçons, in 1969, and she will be showing at the the Metropolitan Museum Of Art. This party is to kickstart those proceedings.
Rihanna totally nailed it again this year bold and sexy in this floral creation by Comme Des Garcons. She is fearless and a total fashion icon, I adore her and she wins the crown for me. Closely followed by the stunning Lily Rose Depp who looked like the perfect picture in this stunning Chanel number.
Lots of monochrome black and white with splashes of red and gold all over the carpet this year. Kendall kept it very sexy with boy-friend A$ap Rocky by her side in this sheer dress by La Perla. If you have a body like that and the confidence I say rock it girl, plus she does it with class with no hint of trash anywhere.
Really disappointed in Bella’s look and Katy’s? Bella is beautiful and that bob with that catsuit is not flattering her. I usually love Alexander Wang but this one time it doesn’t work in my opinion, more Posh Spice then avant garde. Katy Perry also in this red Maison Margiela dress is also a bit of a hot mess in my opinion. She is striking and her new pixie hair totally edges her out but this dress is something that maybe only Lady Gaga could pull of. Also slightly controversial to wear an outfit designed by by John Galliano who has in the past shared his love for Hitler. It’s a strange time for Katy as there have been stories of her using the ‘N’ word this week all over Twitter, not in a racist way but more in an ignorant way ( not sure that’s any better) It has been suggested she has used that term when partying with black people. I hope this is not true and have to say she is a very smart woman and I have always had great experiences with her when I have interviewed her.
Let me know your fav below and get inspiration for party season. Dare to have fun and be differen. Rita is always someone I admire for that, she plays with her hair, make up and style everytime she walks a red carpet. Grab a cup of tea and enjoy babes!
