HISTORY WAS NOT READY FOR ‘PAULI MURRAY’!

11th September 2021

My Name Is Pauli Murray is powerful, beautiful and incredibly inspiring, a reminder we have to honour those who fought for equality for all of us and not allow history to erase them.

The film follows the life of lawyer, activist and totally badass Pauli Murray who was instrumental in arguing the equal protection clause of the fourteenth amendment outlawed discrimination based on sex. Several scholars of Murray’s work are featured in the film including Brittney Cooper and Rosalind Rosenberg. Rosenberg’s research for the book Jane Crow. The film also shares how much Pauli influenced the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg who shares a personal insight into working with Pauli. The world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival was a huge success earlier this year and now finally it’s being released on Prime Video on October 1, 2021, by Amazon Studios.

Check out Directors/Writers Betsy West and Julie Cohen plus Producer Talleah Bridges McMahon share why they had to tell the Pauli Murray story.
